1. The concentrate carrot juice containing 70 percent of carotene
leads the international world

extract carotene was the same with those to extract fruits that have thin-wall
cell or water-soluble ingredient. But the carrot belong to the root-vegetable
that have strong cell wall, the carotene is fat-soluble but not water-soluble.
So, utilizing the fruits processing equipment to extract the carrot result
to the lower extraction.
Only 20 percent of -carotene
was extracted from the milled carrot, according to the food science Journal
of American, VOL.58, NO.5 in 1993. Three lines were introduced to China
from Italia and Germany to process the concentrate carrot juice in 2000.
After a year of industrial test, the carotene extraction rate get to twenty-five
percent by these introduced equipment, the carrot juice whose concentration
is 40 to 42 percent contains carotene 16-20mg/100g.

It has been lasted for several years to research the carrot extraction
by the Shijiazhuang Institute of Agricultural Modernization, CAS, the
key techniques of improving carotene extraction in juice were of break
cell-wall and extract carotene from separated matters. During the industrial
production the carrot extraction rate amount to seventy percent and the
carrot juice whose concentration is 40%- 42% contains carotene 50-55mg/100g.
Our techniques of extract carotene and production carrot juice have led
the international world, and its patent ---- the carrot juice and its
process techniques were applied in January in 2001.
The carrot juice of high carotene content, an important material of
health food, could be industrial produced and the production quality was
safe, it should be popular in the world in the twenty-first century.


the production lines was flown as follows that have an ability of
processing 10 tons raw carrot per hour to concentrated juice:
Buy carrot of good quality from market, pre-wash, preview, elevate rinse,
scald, peel, inspect peeled carrot, lift, cut into pudding, quantify on
the lines, series systems of pre-cook and wash, systems of breaking cell
wall, systems of efficient separation and extraction, de-steam, regulate,
concentration, sterilization, big asepsis packaging, (220L of carrot juice
were filled in each bottle) of high carotene content
The price of each production line is about 12 million RMB, except
for a processing workshop about 3000 square meter and another assistant
workshop of 3000 square meters.

2. Offer series techniques to produce concentrated carrot juice and
mashed carrot by utilizing the equipment of producing ketchup.
The equipment of producing ketchup, a fixture specially used to produce
ketchup, is effectively used only for 60 to 70 days and is left unused
during rest time each year. We adopt a new technique by combining the
national pre-disposal equipment and the imported equipment of producing
ketchup to produce excellent industrial carrot materials (big asepsis
packaging of concentrate mashed carrot and carrot juice), these production
qualities and sense index are as excellent as that of ketchup. Therefore,
the effective using period of the ketchup equipment
was extended about 90 days during which carrot production could be processed.

3 The carrot health food of anti-mutation and guard
intestine endotoxin shifting has the great prospect
The carrot health food certificate was authorized to the SIAMC by the
national health department, including two functions: anti- mutation (NO.307,
1997, HFW) and regulate bifidobacterium and lactobacillus in intestine
(NO.216, 1999, HFW).
Tumor is an abnormal cell that multiplied by an ordinary one and it
easily develop to cancer. There are about six million persons to get the
malignant vicious tumor each year and one millions of them came from the
China. So, the important project, confronting to the international medicine
and dietetics, is to decrease the cancer rate though improving the public's
bite and sup.
Developing a normal cell to cancer cell will experience two stages ---an
initial and an accessing period, the first was resulted from the DNA series
change by some factors that make the gene change irreversible (gene mutation)
and pass down to filial generation. Commonly this tumor cell could be
recognized and be got rid of in time by the immunity system in a person's
body, but this ability will decrease and the probability of mutation will
increase when a person's immunity function is lower or often contact with
some factors that easy result cancer. So, some anti-mutation food should
often be taken for the purpose of reducing the mutation and tumor. Carrot
and its production is a food to anti-mutation because it contains many
natural nutrition and vitamins that could guard oxidation.
The intestine is the biggest reservoir where many bacteria and endotoxin
live in. at an emergency, such as attacked by wound, burn, surgery, chemotherapy
and radiotherapy etc, the bacteria and endotoxin would shift, that would
result to crock up of several apparatus. Therefore, developing a kind
of effective and economical intestine protector is an important project
to the defendant and clinic medicine.
According to the Shijiazhuang Institute of Agricultural Modernization
of Chinese academy science and many national institutes cooperated: "as
a regulator of intestine micro-ecology"(NO.216 sanitation and health
food in1999) The carrot, the carrot could effectively avoid the endotoxemia
in rats resulted from poor of blood and was affused in intestine, in the
mean time, it could effectively reduce the death rate (from 69% decreased
to 22%) of animals in 72 hours who suffer from poor of blood and affused
in intestine". This production has already passed the authorization
of CAS and was identified as leading international level.
From the physic research: too many oxygen free radical easily damnificate
human body or result to intestine endotoxin shift, which accelerate the
human body aging and induce cancer. The carrot juice is could effectively
eliminate the oxygen free radical, intestine enotoxin and mutation cells
in human body. As old men run short of enzymes that could eliminate the
oxygen free radical, 200ml carrot juice per day (including carotene 10
mg) would greatly improve their health and decrease their cancer rate.


About 3000 kg of carrot of good quality (about 4,500,000mg
carotene) are produced per hectare each year in the north areas of the
Great wall in China, and 60 percent of the total carotene (about 2,700,000)
could be reserved in the production. The yield of carrot per ha could
satisfy the 750 persons a year if each person drink 200ml carrot juice
per day, then the production from 130,000 ha of carrot field could satisfy
100 million people.
The total consumed ketchup amount to 3 million tons each year by the
world compared with 3 to 5 tons of mashed carrot or carrot juice. The
industrial carrot processing would greatly accelerate with the new techniques
and research on carrot. Carrot food will advance greatly in the new century
because it is of importance for human health.
